The Metropolitan Opera Guild to celebrate Star Power!
The Metropolitan Opera Guild's Annual Luncheon celebrates a program, not a person. You'll remember that last year's lunch was a tribute to a fave mezzo of mine: Jackie! Celebrating Marilyn Horne.
Indeed, this year the Guild will celebrate the Met Auditions Program with a host of artists who got their start as participants. With honored guests such as Roberta Alexander, Paul Appleby, Vinson Cole, Loretta Di Franco, Rosalind Elias, Hei-Kyung Hong, John Macurdy, Spiro Malas, Patrice Munsel, Cynthia Munzer, Lisette Oropesa, Roberta Peters, Susanna Phillips, Paul Plishka, Regina Resnik, George Shirley, Benita Valente, Carol Vaness and Amber Wagner and with spoken tributes by Martina Arroyo, Harolyn Blackwell, Grace Bumbry, Michael Fabiano and Richard Stilwell, this lunch might just be the biggest gathering of opera stars since the last time the Met did a Gala Concert ... whenever that was.
And yes, there will musical tributes, too - Lawrence Brownlee, Angela Meade and Latonia Moore are on tap.
Would you like to rub elbows with some of opera's greatest treasures? Well you too can be a part of this star-studded event by purchasing tickets. Individual seats go for $275, $500 and $800, while tables of 10 can be purchased for $5,000 and $8,000.
Mark your calendars and get your tickets NOW!
