Who Are You ... Rufus Wainwright

Rufus Wainwright has established himself in certain circles as one of the great songwriters, and composers of his generation, carving out his own incomparable sound in the worlds of rock, opera, theater, dance, and film.

To celebrate the U.S. premiere of his first opera Prima Donna, Wainwright offers a unique glimpse into his eclectic songbook for one incredible night only.

That's right - one night only. Where's Deena Jones when you need her?

Anyway ... in Who Are You New York? The Songs of Rufus Wainwright, New York City Opera presents young opera singers Corinne Winters, Liza Forrester, Andrew Garland, and Joshua Jeremiah who will give the New York premiere of Wainwright's entire song cycle All Days Are Nights: Songs for Lulu. For those who can't live without a performance by Wainwright himself - you wont be disappointed ... the song cycle will be followed by a performance by Wainwright of compositions from his catalog as well as other pieces of note.
