The Drama Drop -

* The Happiest Place on Earth? Uhm, not for 1,900 or so "Cast Members".

Ok, for those who don't know the Disney culture because you weren't "fortunate" enough to work in a Disney Store when you went to college - Disney does not have associates, staff, employees or workers... they have Cast Members. Well, according to the LA Times, it would seem that the list of Cast Members is getting smaller - by 1,900 members - at it's theme parks and resorts. In January, the company offered buyout packages to 600 executives at its domestic parks division, which in addition to the theme parks includes Disney cruise ships, and resorts and vacation spots. Disney employs about 80,000 people in its parks and resorts unit.

* Perhaps the next step is for Disney to follow the example of some other studios and start lowering the wages of some of its film stars. It may help their bottom line, but if we foolishly think we will see a reduction in the cost of our movie tickets, we are sadly and pathetically mistaken.
